This Privacy Policy explains how GuideStream TV (“GuideStream TV,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the GuideStream TV mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

• Account information. When you create an account using Sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we receive information such as your name and email address. If you choose to use the Service as a guest, we create an anonymous profile without these details.
• Your streaming preferences. The streaming services you select, the shows and movies you save, and the profiles you create within the app.
• Usage and activity data. Interactions within the app, including watchlist additions, searches, taps to open content, trailer views, and notification engagement. We use this to personalize your recommendations and improve the Service.
• Device and notification data. Device identifiers, app version, device session information, and push notification tokens used to deliver new-episode alerts.
• Diagnostic data. Limited log and error information used to keep the Service running reliably.

How We Use Your Information

• Personalize content discovery and recommendations.
• Send new-episode and related notifications for shows on the services you select.
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
• Understand aggregate usage trends and measure performance.
• Communicate with you about your account or support requests.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on trusted third parties to function. These include content and metadata providers (such as The Movie Database and Watchmode), authentication providers (Apple and Google), backend and hosting infrastructure (Supabase), and, where applicable, advertising and affiliate partners (such as Google AdMob and Rakuten Advertising). Each third party handles data under its own privacy policy.

Advertising and Affiliate Links

The Service may display advertising and may include affiliate links to streaming services. If you sign up for a service through one of these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Advertising partners may collect device identifiers and advertising data to measure and personalise the ads you see. On iOS, personalised advertising only occurs if you allow tracking when the App Tracking Transparency prompt appears; you can change that at any time in your device settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Your Choices and Controls

You control most of what the Service collects:

• Notifications. Every alert category — new episodes, sports, live streams, watch list availability and movie releases — can be turned on or off individually in the app, and all push notifications can be disabled in your device settings.
• Streaming services. You choose which services you have, and you can change that selection at any time.
• Guest use. You can use the Service without creating an account. In guest mode we do not collect your name or email address.
• Advertising. You can decline tracking at the App Tracking Transparency prompt or withdraw it later in device settings. You will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
• Your content. You can delete any comment you have posted, and you can block another user so their content is hidden from you.

Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account from within the app at any time, under Profile → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your profile, watch list, saved services, likes, watched history, followed creators, favourite teams, comments, notification preferences and push tokens from our systems. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app, email support@guidestream.tv and we will process the deletion for you.

Data Retention

We keep account and preference information for as long as your account is active. Usage and diagnostic data is retained only as long as it is useful for operating and improving the Service. When you delete your account, associated data is removed as described above; limited records may persist briefly in routine backups before being overwritten.

Security

Data is stored with our hosting provider using encryption in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to what is needed to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, email support@guidestream.tv and we will delete it.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. The in-app account deletion described above satisfies most deletion requests immediately. For any other request, email support@guidestream.tv and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information.

International Users

GuideStream TV is operated from the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
